How to become a PhD Pipeline Partner

The Ph.D. Pipeline Opportunity Program seeks to establish a collaborations in order to increase the number of underrepresented minorities (African American, Hispanic/Latino/a, Native American) pursuing careers as business school professors. Focusing on undergraduate students, the Program will partner with institutions to identify and support the targeted students by providing them with experiences, a knowledge base, and research activities to prepare for pursuit of the degree.

The Ph.D. Pipeline Partner is expected to:

Name a Faculty Associate

The institution will support and assist the Faculty Associate in attending the annual PhD Pipeline Partners Workshop.  The institution will provide, as necessary, support to the Faculty Associate through, for example, release time, technical assistance, and clerical help.

Provide Support for the Faculty Associate

This institution will support and assist the Faculty Associate in attending the annual PhD Pipeline Partners Conference at the Fuqua School of Business.  This institution will provide, as necessary, support to the Faculty Associate through, for example, released time, technical assistance, and clerical help.

Complete Occasional Assessment Surveys

These will include occasional surveys and/or focus group discussions regarding faculty and student activities and opinions relevant to the PhD PIPELINE.

Ongoing PhD Pipeline University Activities for Students

The institution will plan and conduct a series of activities throughout the school year for a range of students majoring in business fields as well as non-business disciplines.  Academic research and quantitative and communication skills will be emphasized given their importance in doctoral study.
